A hunger for your words
Your words are beautiful
They profess your love for me
Your words are funny
They make me laugh four hours on end
Your words are comforting
They sooth me when the pain seems unbearable
Your words are undesirable
They get in the way of my favorite videogame
Your words are undiscernible
I fail to hear them well over the noise of the radio
Your words are selfish
They don’t leave any room for my own words
Your words are sharp
They reveal truths I don’t want to face
You words are dangerous
They cut me down and leave me naked
Your words are hurtful
They leave my soul numb and scarred
But your silence… your silence is irreparable
An empty house falling apart
Your silence is darkness
A void within a void within a void within…
Your silence is death
An existence left to rot
Your silence is a nightmare
From which I yearn to wake up
To the sweet melody of your words
Because however shape they’d come
As I lie deaf in a moribund state
Your words would be the only cure to this fatal silence of yours
Sing me a song to wake me up...
