Mooie Droom

I sit by this side of the lake to wait for a sign

Your voice, far away, breathes life into mine

And in the solitary gaze of that half way dream

I taste the sweet power of your smile

You draw the same smile in my lips thirsty for your touch

With your magic wands in colorful prose

Time seems to slow down its cycle in your eyes

The deep blue I often confuse with the sky

You are a mystery I slowly unravel

And I pull your secrets open one by one

To want so deep what I couldn’t have

A passion that burns with all my might

Impatience runs against the sands of time

Your mind is hidden for me, your mind I so adore

The sensible words you speak in Morse code

You show me images of a faraway life

In tender moments that make me soar

And before you sleep, do you wish for a goodnight kiss?

In the mornings when you wake, do you feel the same bliss?

Do you feel the hope of my hands to slowly caress your face?

Do you hear me when I silently whisper your name?

Tell me stranger what color is your heart

What are the paths that lead to it, where does lie its doors?

Draw me a map to find the treasures of your soul

And then let me vanish in your maze, fool me so

And to walk towards you one step at a time

And to find you when the dusk arrives

And to lead you to your bed, embrace you goodnight

And to let our hands in playful joy collide

And to watch you dream…

Oh, this wish so mine

That betrays every notion of my soul

Crumbles every barrier I rose

Enters like water with powerful strength

And wallows me under, oh, thief of my breath

An unfathomable desire, the wish to dare

I stand shivering after the storm

The moonlight bathing my trembling hands

And I make a runaway wish to the brightest star

“Imagine that we live somewhere else

In another reality, in a parallel world

Where my ties don’t exist

Where I’m free to run”

Tell me stranger what goes on in your soul

The wheels that turn in their never ending song

In a bitter reminder of what I am

Tell my conscience to let me go

To forget me for a minute, for a second, for a whole month

Grant me time enough to find your sleeping place

And to lay next to you without a sound

Forever in silence, to feel your warmth

And to let my soul gravitate towards yours

And to pull a trick to make you smile

To convey all angels to gather here

And for my one wish to grant…

To travel inside your dreams

To meet you in Neverland

To show you heavens above

And draw figures in the clouds

Let a fleeting star take us

To all faraway lands

To watch something beautiful grow

In the canals of Amsterdam

And while you run through the prairies with your heart on your sleeve

Galloping with your rocking little horse

The lovely giggles of the sweetest boy you are reach me with the breeze

I’ll be laughing with glee outside

While I watch your sleeping eyes

And your pretty nose

To draw your lips with my hands

To place a tender kiss on your cheek

Just before dawn…

This almost aching wish to stay by your side

Before the dream ends

Maybe you’ll open your eyes…

Maybe for a minute more I may stay

To hold my heart from pouring over if I may

A loaded sigh with all the things I wish I could say…

But this mooie droom is all we have…

You wake up and I’m gone…

I leave you wrapped in a song

With a melody of light

And a promise to be back tonight…

Should you wish it so…
